Exercise and Physical Activity
Current research suggests lifestyle modifications and exercise play a key role in combating mental health issues. 

For example, many individuals with psychiatric conditions are at a high risk of chronic diseases associated with sedentary behavior and medication side effects, such as, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, and cardiovascular disease.  

Yet aerobic exercises, such as, jogging, swimming, cycling, walking, gardening, and dancing, have been shown to reduce anxiety and depression.
"Exercise has been shown to alleviate symptoms of anxiety, depression, negative moods, low self-esteem and social withdrawal; it is associated with improved self-esteem and cognitive function."
Exercise and physical activity have many health benefits, including, but not limited to:
